Hint of the Week
Labeling files - the way the experts do it!
A simple rule to remember when it comes to filing is to
label the files correctly. That may sound ridiculously
simple and insanely obvious, but it is a rule that is often
broken in many office environments.
Choose names for the files that make sense to you and are easy to remember. It is a waste of time putting a label on a file that does not relate to what is inside the file. You will spend long periods of time unnecessarily searching for items that you should be able to find in seconds if you follow the simple rule of filing. For example: If you are filing invoices, try filing alphabetically according to companies names. Remember that an organized office is an efficient and effective work place, so don't delay in putting labels on the files and starting the file all those piles of papers scattered around your office.
