When the job chop threatens...

Psalm 34 v 8-10:  "Taste and see that the LORD is good;  blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.  Fear the LORD, you his saints,  for those who fear him lack nothing.  The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing."

We have written about the staff who have been promoted, and the staff that were overlooked for promotion.  Today, we will reflect on those that have been retrenched or made redundant, or are facing the possibility of retrenchment.  To be told that your job is ending cannot be easy: at the forefront of one's mind is the knowledge that the income will cease and the expenses will continue to grow.

As devastating as impending retrenchment may seem, there is a solution if you believe in Jesus Christ.  He is the only one who will give you hope.  The Word of God says: 'taste and see that the Lord is good'. You may ask "but how can we taste?" The answer is simple, by 'fearing' the Lord, and obeying His Word (and to be able to obey the Word, one needs to know the Word, so we must study the Word).  As when we know the Word, we will be able to tap into the Word that is living inside of us and believe it.

The Word of God goes on to say that: 'those that fear Him lack nothing'.  Your income may be disappearing, but the Word says that you will 'lack nothing'. So you won't be bringing home that cheque at the end of the month, but that doesn't mean that God won't supply your needs.  Claim the Word that says: 'those that seek the Lord lack no good thing'. If the Word says that - THEN surely God means it. He will bless you so that you are not in lack of anything.  All you need to do is believe!!
