Banish fear for 2010...
2 Timothy 1v7:
"For God
did not give us a spirit of
timidity, but a spirit of power,
of love and of self–discipline."
God's Word clearly states that
we have not been given a spirit
of timidity or fear (the
definition of fear is: a feeling
of anxiety and agitation caused
by the presence or nearness of
danger, or a feeling of
uneasiness or apprehension).
As we start this new year, God
wants us to walk a life that
does not include fear in any
form - one need just look around
us to see how much fear the
world is in. If we give room to
fear (even in a small area of
our lives) it will grow. The
way to beat fear is to stand in
faith (and faith is being sure
of what we hope for and certain
of what we do not see). Let's
look at an example: imagine you
are in fear of losing your job.
To replace the fear, we need to
stand in faith. How do we
do that in a practical way?
We change our thoughts to
believe that God will replace
our job that we are currently
in with a much better job.
That's faith - trusting God to
give me His best even when the
circumstances (fear of losing
job) look bleak and probable.
If God commanded us not to fear
- then He must have had a much
better plan for us. Start this
year by believing God's Word.
